All the office chairs in this range were developed closely with leading industry specialists in posture evaluation related to chair design and so are designed to be selected to best fit individual body requirements.

Pelvic Posture

When we sit into a chair, the weight of the upper body causes the pelvis to roll backwards. The 'Pelvic Posture Principle' upon which these chairs are designed is designed to take this into account.

The 'wings' of the pelvis are supported just below the waist and allow the spine to take up its natural shape whilst sitting. This uniquely shaped pelvic support contacts these critical areas of the spine and pelvis, providing increased back support.

Because of the unique design of these chairs and the inherent pelvic support, they have no need of the additional lumbar supports which can be added to other chairs outside of this range.

In addition to the basic design, each chair can be fitted with a number of options which further satisfy the individual needs of users:

  • Coccyx Cutout - a cut away area of the seat to reduce pressure on the tailbone area.
  • Memory foam seat - pressure relieving foam which helps to relieve and prevent back pain, aching joints and circulatory problems.
  • Cupped telescopic armrests with wrist supports
  • Headrest - to provide additional upper body, neck and head support if required.

Back pain is very common; almost half the UK adult population report lower back pain lasting for at least 24 hours, at some time in the last year. On reflection, this is unsurprising when you consider that human bodies were never designed for sitting yet this is what many of us do for 8 hours or more each day.

It has never been more important to ensure that we and our employees are sitting on well designed and appropriate chairs which are fit for the job and which are adjustable enough to meet our individual needs.
