Posturemax® Ergonomic Operator Chairs – User Instructions
Click on any of the chairs above to purchase or see its specification Developments have been made to this chair and since mid-2008 newly purchased chairs benefit from a different mechanism which includes an integrated seat-slide. The instructions below reflect both the old and new mechanisms. Seat Height Adjustment This is controlled by a lever on the front right hand side of the chair. Lift the lever and the chair will rise. If seated, the chair will lower when the lever is lifted
Back Height Adjustment This is adjusted from the sitting position by gently lifting the back. This works on a ratchet mechanism and has 5 increases in height. Once you have reached the top height the back will automatically reset to its lowest position.
Synchro-Mechanism Adjustment
New Chairs To increase or decrease the tension of the synchro mechanism turn the knob adjacent to the seat height adjstment lever on the front right of the seat when seated. Synchronous movement of the seat and back is achieved by releasing the lever to the left front of the seat. To allow free movement leave the lever unlocked. To retain chair in one position push lever down to lock. Older Chairs To increase or decrease the tension of the synchro mechanism, turn the handwheel underneath the seat. Turn clockwise to increase tension or anticlockwise to decrease tension. This will affect the amount of ‘give’ when the chair is in free-float movement.
Locking the back into the required position
New chairs Raise the lever to the rear right of the seat to release back. Lean into seat until at the correct postion and release lever to lock seat.
Older Chairs The back can be either set to ‘free float’ or locked at one of five angles. To set the back, turn the lever on the front left hand side of the chair a half turn.
Lumbar Support Single air cell
The air cell in the back of the chair can be inflated and deflated as required via the pump which hangs below the seat or on the back left hand side of the chair. The air cell can be deflated using the valve situated next to the bulb. You should make these adjustments whilst seated.
Variable Contour Back
The Optional Variable Contour Back system consists of 3 air cells that can be inflated by squeezing the hand bulb located under the left hand side of the seat.
There are 3 control buttons positioned low down on the right hand side of the back as seated. Each button controls airflow to a corresponding air cell. Buttons rotate 90 degrees to open or close the inlet valve and when pressed they release air from the cell.
Independent Seat Tilt Older Chairs The seat should be locked in one of two positions.
This inclination of the seat raises the users pelvis encouraging the spine to assume its natural 'S' curve.
4-Way Adjustable Arms
Seat Slide New Chairs
Lift the lever to the rear left of the seat and slide the seat forward with your bottom until it reaches the required position. It is easier to push the seat back from a standing position - lift lever and push seat back and sit to readjust. There should be a gap between the front of the seat and the back of your knee.
Older Chairs Locate the button under the front right hand side of the seat, press button inwards and slide seat forwards. Release button when seat is in required position. Adjustments of up to 50mm are possible using this facility. |
